When you visit Casa Ramona Academy, you sense a different atmosphere on campus. Students feel secure; the campus gives a feeling of purpose and the discipline to reach that purpose. Our elementary grades are lead by dedicated, energetic teachers who treat our students with respect. They honor the individual strengths of our students and teach to the talents of our students.
A great part of our teachers’ energy is spent helping students reach and surpass academic goals set by the State of California. Our students at these grade levels receive the preparation necessary to be successful in middle and upper grades:
- Build and maintain major emphasis and minor emphasis portfolios that document individual progress in all domains/disciplines and dual language acquisition.
- Demonstrate passing scores in the core subjects of state testing.
- Explore different career and technical education plans, inclusive of college attainment and preparation resources – onsite visits to college campuses
- Complete CELDT test as appropriate.
Teachers provide guidance, direction, and support on portfolio work via prepared commentary tied to evaluation rubrics and/or standard letter grade marks. Students may not earn credit for work that is below satisfactory or below the standard letter grade equivalent of a D. Such courses will result in a No Mark (NM) and must be upgraded/ completed to a satisfactory mark within 6 weeks of the close of a semester or be repeated.
Discipline is rigorous, expectations are high and academic achievement is our focus.
